Biography

Claude Grison is director of research at the CNRS and director of the Chimie bio-inspirée et innovations écologiques laboratory (ChimEco - CNRS/Université de Montpellier). She is at the origin of the Ecocatalysis® concept, which has led to the emergence of a new line of research at the interface of bio-inspired chemistry and scientific ecology. It corresponds to a global approach to sustainable development, leading today to the development of a new green industry based on the ecological rehabilitation of polluted or degraded sites, the preservation of wetlands and the unprecedented chemical and economic valorization of phytotechnologies developed to serve biodiversity. Its research activities have led to the creation of two companies, Bioinspir and Laboratoires Bioprotection.

Claude Grison is the author of 185 publications and books, 46 patents and 232 conferences. Her work has been recognized with 15 scientific awards, including the Prix de la Femme d'influence (Économie) 2023, the Prix de l'Inventeur européen 2022, the Prix Alexandre Joannidès from the Académie des sciences 2016, the Prix Homme-Nature from the Fondation Sommer 2016 and the médaille de l'innovation from the CNRS 2014. Claude Grison is also a member of the Académie nationale de pharmacie and the European Academy of Sciences.
