The Académie des sciences supports research, science education and scientific life as a whole.

Its reports give everyone the tools to understand the scientific debate and thus help to shed light on societal issues. It has been conducting reflections on the political, ethical and societal issues raised by scientific questions since its creation in 1666.

The Académie contributes to the dissemination of knowledge. Involved in societal debates, it contributes to education and promotes scientific culture.

To meet the challenges, most of which are global in scope, the Académie contributes to the internationalization of science.

Scientific expertise

The Académie des sciences offers a unique vision of science by embracing all disciplines from mathematics to molecular biology.

This comprehensive approach enables it to play a crucial role in societal debates on major topics such as climate, health and ethics, providing analytical reports, opinions, and recommendations to enlighten public bodies, government and citizens.
