The Académie des Sciences, a flagship institution for the formal and experimental sciences, offers a comprehensive vision of science, encompassing mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, biology and more.
It publishes analytical reports and issues opinions and recommendations, thus enhancing scientific expertise. Since 1835, it has published Comptes Rendus Mathématique, Mécanique, Physique, Géoscience, Palevol, Chimie et Biologies, high-level peer-reviewed international scientific journals accessible to all free of charge. It also publishes Vie des sciences, a multi-disciplinary scientific journal aimed at the general public.

The Académie des sciences runs a network of scientific and technical advisors to the rectorats, supports educational initiatives and promotes its rich heritage of thousands of books and documents featuring the greatest names, such as Antoine Lavoisier, Louis Pasteur, Claude Bernard, Henri Poincaré or Joseph Fourier via educational trails.
Communication strategy
The Academy of Sciences is deploying an ambitious communications strategy to increase its visibility and impact, in conjunction with the Institut de France's Canal Académies channel.
Teaching
It supports major actions in favor of science education, notably through the La Main à la Pâte Foundation.
This foundation works with teachers to improve the quality of science and technology teaching in schools and colleges. It offers them a varied, interactive and multimedia range of classroom and training resources, in the service of a lively, attractive science in tune with societal issues.
The Académie des Sciences is involved in enhancing and preserving its heritage sites - the Château d'Abbadia, Pasteur's houses and the Château du Ry-Chazerat - by offering educational and historical tours to promote science.
