The development of nanofabrication methods for microelectronics, followed more recently by additive manufacturing using 3D printing, have opened up new avenues for producing original devices and materials with sometimes highly surprising properties. Nanostructured metasurfaces on a sub-wavelength scale can be used to produce original optical devices, while additive manufacturing can be used to produce ultra-light, extremely strong materials. The aim of this conference is to present these innovative but fairly little-known methods for manufacturing devices and materials with new and useful functionalities.
This conference is organized by Daniel Estève, member of the Académie des sciences, director of research at CEA.
