Laure Saint-Raymond, member of the French Academy of sciences and professor at the Institut des hautes études scientifiques (IHES) and the École normale supérieure Lyon (ENSL), is launching a major citizen project in favor of the School.
The French school system is today the scene of many tensions and frustrations. What can we do about it? First, recognize them. And realize that the various forms of misunderstanding of which some or others feel victims, rightly or wrongly, ultimately reflect on the children and teenagers themselves.
The "L'École dont nous rêvons" project, steered by Laure Saint-Raymond for the Académie des sciences, brings together a collective of academics, experts and players in the field with the ambition of rethinking the missions of schools in the face of the challenges of the 21st century. Together, they share a strong conviction: a more serene and fulfilling School is possible, provided we strengthen the ties and mutual trust between all its players and partners.
This project thus aims to highlight the many initiatives that are positively transforming the School on the ground, and to propose some concrete structural measures to bring about in-depth change in the institution and restore the trust and resources it deserves, by giving a voice and more freedom to those on the ground.
